Zurich (Schaumburg, IL) seeks Data Engineer II responsible for leveraging the value of data assets throughout the organization/participating on core teams identifying/validating data scenarios within Zurich Enterprise Integration & Data Management business unit. Specific responsibilities include: Software development to curate large data sets which aids data scientists to develop insurance models for predictive analytics organization in improving the organization's decision-making capabilities by providing quality, transparent data; working with very large data sets; building programs/mappings that leverage Hadoop platforms and Data warehouses (MPP) platforms; sharing knowledge of Big Data trends, technologies, and tools with a collaborative team; using SQL Developer, Data warehousing (Fact and Dimensional modeling), and RDBMS ETL development; Software development using Hadoop platforms and Data warehouses (MPP) platforms to implement large scale models building large-scale distributed applications and services; integrating data, data profiling, and data modeling; and developing actionable plans, recognizing opportunities for improvement and reporting on on-going progress of plans.
The position requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or other related field, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, as an IT Consultant, IT Analyst, or similar data engineering position. Specific experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: Java, RDBMS, Informatica; solving programming tasks; project lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, implementation, support and enhancement; and design and maintenance of coding standards and enhancement of applications and development. Additionally, specific experience must include: 4 years working with ETL tools and Informatica; and 3 years of experience with each of the following: large data sets and building programs/mappings that leverage architecture; Business process environment for Hadoop platforms and Data warehouses (MPP) platforms; large data sets and programming/mapping leverage Hadoop platforms and Data warehouses (MPP) platforms; developing actionable plans; Storm, Hive, HBase, Spark, Map Reduce, Kafka, Sqoop, Flume, Tez, Pig, Oozie; SQL Developer; Data Warehousing (Fact and Dimensional modeling) and RDBMS ETL development; building large-scale distributed applications and services; and data interrogation, data profiling or data modeling.
