Wor-Wic Community College continuously accepts applications for child development center substitute teachers and aides. Minimum requirements include:

  • Substitute Aide: high school diploma or the equivalent; must be at least 18 years old. 
  • Substitute Teacher: high school diploma or the equivalent; must be at least 18 years old; must have at least 90 clock hours in Child Growth and Development, 9 clock hours of communication coursework and proof of college credits. 

Approval from the Maryland Department of Education, Office of Child Care is required. These positions are considered mandatory reporters for the Department of Human Services.

Substitutes will be vetted and then called to fill-in as needed. Supplemental Information

This is an applicant POOL. Applications will be reviewed, and positions will be filled based on the needs of the child development center. Substitute aides and teachers will be hired specifically to fill-in the schedule as needed. Applications are always welcome in this category and will remain active in this pool for two years.
