SUMMARY: Assist Service Manager in running a profitable and efficient Service Department by operating at maximum production, building a loyal clientele, maintaining good relationships with other employees, setting and obtaining sales and profit objectives, and maintaining service records.


Greets customers promptly and courteously, in person or on the telephone
Schedules appointments and checks in customer vehicles
Builds excellent customer relationships to encourage repeat and referral business and maximum customer satisfaction
Diagnoses needs, selling labor and parts to retail customers
Gives fair estimates on the cost and time required for customers' repairs and maintenance
Writes repair orders
Sets goals for team and strives to meet them
Strives for harmony and teamwork with all co-workers and departments at the Dealership
Works with Parts, Body, and recon personnel to ensure timely turnaround on internal jobs
Verifies completeness and quality of workmanship
Delivers finished vehicles to customer
Promptly and consistently follows up with customers, verifying customer satisfaction
Handles customer complaints immediately and in accordance with Dealership policies
Solicits new business
Moves vehicles when necessary
Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommends purchases
Updates customers' service files, keeps them readily available for reference
Directs and schedules activities of service technicians on team, ensuring that work is allocated to service technicians on a fair basis and in such a manner as to ensure a smooth flow of work to each man
Assists in motivating and monitoring performance of service technician
Provides technical assistance to service technicians as needed
Verifies that technicians have necessary and safe tools
Continually develops product knowledge
Keeps work areas clean
Projects a positive attitude and professional appearance
Assists in enforcing policy for collection of monies on all service work
Assists in implementing the Dealership safety program and ensuring that technicians follow safety policy and practices
Reports all accidents or incidents involving service technicians to the Service Manager or to the Human Resources Director the same day
