The Florida Channel - located in Tallahassee, FL - produces 24/7, year-round coverage of all three branches of state government. Programming includes gavel-to-gavel coverage of a wide variety of state proceedings, along with a wide variety of documentary and public affairs programs and segments covering issues of interest and importance to all Floridians. The programming is delivered statewide by satellite and is also available on the Internet.

Description:

In our Capitol Complex location, you will serve as a member of the Traffic and Operations Department.

Responsibilities include:

Manages requests to record events; responds quickly and accurately to ensure events are being recorded and displayed on the Capitol Complex’s closed circuit system and on TheFloridaChannel.org; monitors audio/video quality of incoming feeds and recordings; adds metadata to databases

Ensures all DVD dub requests are processed in a complete and timely manner; digitizes and tags archive tapes and DVDs; assists in the maintenance of tape room libraries by ensuring tapes and DVDs are shelved in an organized fashion.

Acts as a back-up to the Web team and Master Control by performing basic tasks when needed. Acts as a back-up to the Senior Media Coordinator by assuming Avid Interplay archiving duties when necessary. Other duties as assigned.

Ideal candidate must be capable of learning specialized software and have an aptitude for operating electronic equipment. Must be able to multi-task, troubleshoot, communicate effectively, adapt to change, work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines. Must be organized, detail-oriented, computer literate, and technologically curious. Must be able to interact with co-workers and other departments in a professional manner.

Qualifications:

• An Associate's degree or vocational/technical training and a minimum of 3 years appropriate experience.

• The ability to satisfy the flexible schedule requirements.

Anticipated hiring range minimum is $28,500 annually – dependent on education and experience.
