This is an exciting opportunity for an individual seeking a rewarding career supporting innovative nonprofit behavioral health programming in the Ely area. WBD was founded in 2010 and currently has 7 staff across a variety of programs. The Executive Director will work under the direction of the WBD board to ensure high-quality financials, HR, and programming to benefit the community.
The position requires at least 20 hours per week with a possible increase of hours dependent on candidate preference and grant funding. The salary range is $20-24/hour DOQ and includes paid time off, paid holidays, paid professional development, and a flexible work schedule.
Educate community and stakeholders about mental and behavioral health and advocate for WBD programs including Northern Lights Clubhouse (NLC) and Behavioral Health Network (BHN).
Act as staff liaison to board governance committees and the full Board of Directors by providing necessary information and reports and communicating board decisions to staff.
Work with board, staff, and participants to ensure projects are meeting programming goals and activities to high-quality standards.
Ensure appropriate data collection and data privacy to track client data and evaluate programming outcomes.
Hire, supervise, manage, and evaluate staff. Train staff according to roles, job descriptions, and WBD employee requirements. Support professional development of staff. This position has 3-4 direct reports.
Work with HR Board Committee to set and ensure HR policies and laws are carried out to a high standard
Work with Finance Committee to prepare and manage monthly financial reports, grant reimbursement requests, and annual budget (500K).
Ensure WBD is in compliance with financial policies and state and federal grant requirements (filing, documentation).
Work with external bookkeeper to oversee financial management including but not limited to employee expense reimbursements, bill payment, recording and classifying income and expenses, and reporting.
Work with external accountant to complete annual IRS 990.
Work with board committees, staff, and participants to ensure projects have fundraising goals and strategies.
Ensure individual and business donations are tracked appropriately and receive responsive communication.
Assist in carrying out fundraising events.
Provide data and support to external grant-writing and grant reporting as needed.
THE MOST QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
Experience with nonprofit operations such as grant writing and management, fundraising, and strategic planning
Experience with staff supervision and financial management
A BA/BS degree
Excellent written & oral communication, organization, and time management skills
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, email, file sharing, and basic data entry
Knowledge of human services, behavioral healthcare, physical healthcare, social work, or a related field
A belief that harm reduction and recovery is possible for any community member
