Summary of Duties |
Creates and edits content for publications, talking points, and other materials for administrative, event, and marketing purposes. Closely collaborates with the communications writing team, extension publications, and web services to deliver engaging and appealing content in a timely manner. |

Required Qualifications |
Positions require a Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, communications or related field and two (2) years of professional level writing/editing experience which has included word processing computer applications and a demonstrated knowledge of graphic arts principles. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to (1) one year of the required experience. |

Additional Requirements |
A Bachelor’s degree in a writing or marketing related field AND one to three (1-3) years of writing experience including the use of electronic media in marketing, print, broadcast news media, public relations, or a related field OR one to three (1-3) years of other relevant professional experience. Must have, or able to obtain, a valid driver’s license by time. Writing and editing experience required, preferably as a writer or editor of web content Superior proofreading skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Proficient in Associated Press style. Experience publishing writing via website content management systems (WordPress preferred) and social media platforms (Facebook and Twitter preferred). Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and service customers directly. Must be self-motivated, a self-starter, organized, and planned. Advanced degree or continued education/certifications in (a) related field(s), especially electronic writing, digital media production, content marketing, and/or professional social media. Previous experience managing editorial and/or social media calendars. Experience in higher education. |
Preferred Qualifications |
Previous experience in planning, writing, and formatting email marketing and outreach. Previous experience or training in copywriting for search engine optimization and/or leveraging Google Analytics to enhance copywriting approach. Previous experience or training in visual and/or graphic design. Familiarity or work with agricultural, natural resource, and related disciplines. Previous experience or training in writing web formatting code (especially HTML and CSS). |
