VERITAS Rheumatology Team at the University of Utah in SLC: Requires a Master's degree in computational engineering or related field and at least one first-author peer review publication. Competency in SQL programming language and SAS as demonstrated through standardized testing to be completed at the time of interview. Requires 18-months experience with biomedical data and 12-months experience programming with applied statistics, such as regression or survival models. Experience requirements can be demonstrated through employment, training or an academic program. The Senior Research Analyst on the VERITAS Rheumatology Team in the Division of Epidemiology is a programming intensive position, that involves a mix of data extraction, cleaning, processing, validation, and statistical analysis.
The position will communicate healthcare data models and operationalize clinical concepts from electronic health records data in order to identify inflammatory arthritis patients and study the comorbidity and uses of disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs; apply correct statistical modeling approaches to the study design; use common statistical approaches such as descriptive statistics, machine learning, natural language processing, epidemiological measures of disease, regression modeling (e.g., time-to-event analyses); collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of rheumatologists, statisticians, software developers and other investigators; author reports and contribute to published manuscripts and grants applications.
