High School Science Teacher

Vallejo City Unified School District seeks High School Science Teacher for the District in Vallejo, CA. Pos involves teaching (grades 9-12) science to pupils, utilizing course of study adopted by Board of Education + other appropriate learning activities. Provide planned learning exp in order to motivate pupils and best utilize the available time for instruction. Establish + maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. Evaluate pupil's academic + social growth, keep appropriate records, prepared program reports, + communicate with parents on pupil's progress. Ident pupil needs + cooperate with other staff members in assessing + helping pupils solve health, attitude + learning problems. Create with assistance from pupils a functional environment for learning through displays, bulletin boards + interest centers. Perf basic attend accounting + bus services as required. Select + requisition books, instructional aids + supplies + maintain required inventory records. Insure comfortable room environment. Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during assigned work day. Admin group standardized tests in accord with district testing prog. Partic in curriculum + developmental program within school of assign or on district level. Share in sponsorship of student active + participate in faculty committees. May plan + coordinate work of aides, TA + other paraprofessionals. Participate with professional staff members in social hygiene + outdoor education program. May undergo standard prehire background checks. Salary range $56,695 - $105,505. Must have Bachelor in Bio, Chem, Health Science, or related science field, and hold (or be eligible for) relevant CA Educator certificate.
