University of Virginia Center for Applied Biomechanics, located in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks a Research Scientist. Duties include performing experimental and computational injury biomechanics research using state-of-the-art techniques and approaches and participating in the development and publishing of peer-reviewed papers for journals and conferences.
Requires a PhD in Civil Engineering or related field, or foreign equivalent. Also requires each of the following: minimum of five (5) years experience in vehicle crash worthiness modeling and full-vehicle model development using LS-Dyna; Minimum of nine (9) years experience or academic training in computational mechanics; teaching experience in finite element and structural mechanics courses; and a minimum five years experience in experimental mechanics, full vehicle and ATD testing.
