The Utah Attorney General's Office, Highways & Utilities Division, is seeking an attorney to advise the Utah Transit Authority in procurement matters, other complex transactional work and periodic litigation. Legal advice and representation in other transit-related areas such as capital projects is also required. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in procurement and contract matters. Transit-related work experience is desired, but not required. Must have knowledge of laws impacting government entities and demonstrated experience in developing relationships with regulatory and funding agencies, internal staff and the community.
Applicants should have at least 5 years of experience and be an active member of the Utah State Bar in good standing. Applicants must have the ability to analyze complex legal problems, apply legal principles and practices, prepare and present legal materials in a clear and concise manner, and present legal arguments clearly, persuasively and logically. Travel is required as incumbents will need to represent the UTA in legal proceedings throughout the State.
