The U.S. District Court is currently recruiting for an Financial Deputy. The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
The Financial Deputy will assist in performing and coordinating administrative, technical, and professional work related to financial and accounting activities of the Court, including ensuring compliance with the appropriate guidelines, policies, and internal controls. Financial Deputies perform financial transactions and maintain required records, in accordance with the Court policies and approved internal controls. The individual will be located in the James M. Carter and Judith N. Keep U.S. Courthouse. The incumbent will maintain, reconcile and analyze accounting records, process and pay bills and invoices for all court units, process victim restitution payments, use accounting software and systems to record, store and track information, provide customer support to judicial officers, their staff and the Clerk’s office concerning payment or receipting of funds and ensure that appropriate internal controls for disbursement, transfer, recording and reporting of monies are followed, as well as other duties as assigned.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and prefer incumbent has a bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, business or a related field and prior financial, budget, or accounting experience in government/public sector.
