Research Associate-Materials Scientist at the University of Utah in SLC:
Requires a BS in Chemistry or related field; and at least 6 peer review publications (including at least 2 first-author peer reviewed publications), demonstrating research interest and knowledge in materials characterization and electron microscopy. Requires 60 months experience with XPS and SEM/EDX, which can be demonstrated through employment, training or an academic program. The Research Scientist-Materials Scientist in the University of Utah's Nanofab will work in the Surface Analysis Lab, serving as the primary tool owner of the XPS and ESEM/EBSD instruments. Will cross-train and support applications development and service requests on the STEM, AFM, ellipsometer, profilometer, laser markers, XRF, ion mill and other instruments in the lab. On a semiannual basis, will teach short courses (such as: Applied Scanning Electron Microscopy and Microanalysis; Applied Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) and Analytical Scanning TEM (STEM)) to instruct students in the operation and theory of Scanning Electron Microscopy and Transmission Electron Microscopy.
