University of Colorado, Denver currently has an opening for a Senior IT Professional, ETL Developer in Aurora CO to design, develop and manage the enterprise data warehouse and the processes required to extract, transform, cleanse, and load the data into the enterprise data warehouse and data marts. Nature of Work:
Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed fully independently.
Examples of Work Performed:
- Design, develop and manage the enterprise data warehouse and the processes required to extract, transform, cleanse, and load the data into the enterprise data warehouse and data marts.
- Design and development of ETL processes using Python, Google API’s, and other ETL tools.
- Develop solutions and enhance technical standards to address data warehouse query performance and quality.
- Deliver data warehousing solutions, including data modeling, solutions integration, and working with other team members to troubleshoot and ensure quality of the data warehouse.
- Consult with other IT teams and users to solve business problems.
- Design and implement relational models and star schemas.
- Validate and test ETL processes, monitoring performance and performing tuning as necessary.
- Use of Erwin data modeler and other industry standard data profiling tools.
- Create and update documentation to support development work, including ETL source to target mappings, code review logs, validation results, execution logs, and profiling results.
- Maintain documentation of data definitions, content domains, data classes, subject area classification, and conformed dimensions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related
- 2 years experience as an ETL Developer, Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Developer, Data Warehouse Developer or related occupation, which must include some experience with data warehousing and business intelligence in the healthcare industry; ETL design, development, performance and validation; designing, developing and validating complex database load and maintenance processes with ETL tools (Python, Google API’s); using Google Cloud Platform technology (Google Storage, Google BigQuery); data development tools, languages, and environments (SQL, PL/SQL, Java, Unix and Windows shell, Python, R, SAS, C/C++); establishing and scheduling ETL run cycle within allotted time; and developing custom code and scripts for scheduling, data movement, and data manipulation. Completion of a background investigation also required.
