Provides and directs speech therapy services for a caseload of patients and their families through direct care and interdisciplinary coordination. Evaluation, direction and provision of speech-language pathology service to patient in the home in accordance with Shands HomeCare policies and procedures, applicable health care standards and governmental regulations. The speech-language pathologist strives to proactively meet the needs of and assist the patient/client in the achievement of individualized, defined and measurable outcomes. This position reports to and is supported by the Director of Rehab or designee.

Must successfully pass an AHCA Level 2 screening for this position.

Job Opening Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
  • Holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification.
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with a temporary permit in Florida as a Speech Pathologist.
  • Experience in the specialty of home health is preferred.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation:
Employees in this position will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a "frequent driver."

NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile
a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
