Customer Service/ Ticketing Part Time Position
The Customer Service Associate position works at the North Carolina History Center and Waystation on a temporary (without benefits) part-time basis. Position will have a flexible work schedule typically requiring both weekday and weekend work. Additional evening and Holiday work is occasionally required. This position works an average of 29 hours or less in a seven-day work week. Duties include greeting visitors, providing information about the site, selling tickets, handling money, completing financial reports, working with tourist groups, answering phones, and other duties as requested. Applicant must have a welcoming personality, professional demeanor, strong customer service skills and at least one year of cash handling experience. Applicant must be available for weekend, evening, and holiday work as needed. The Customer Service Representative is a temporary employee (i.e., without benefits) of the State of North Carolina with starting pay at minimum wage.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Skills required: strong computer skills (including email and word processing), attention to detail, and good verbal/written communication skills, as well as one year of cash handling experience. Previous Customer Service experience is helpful. Knowledge of United States, North Carolina and local history is helpful.
Training & Experience Requirements:
Candidate must have a high school diploma or GED.
