The Administrative Assistant is responsible for the administrative support for the Director and the department. In addition to typing, filing and scheduling, performs duties such as financial record keeping, preparation of time and attendance records, coordination of meetings and conferences, ordering supplies, coordination of direct mailings; performs other administrative duties as required. Work is performed under general direction from the Director, who reviews performance for conformance to departmental policies and procedures.

Duties: Prepares administrative correspondence, memoranda, and statements; maintains records and files; schedules and organizes meetings, travel, conferences and departmental activities for all members of the department; manages and prioritizes large volumes of information and calls; sorts and distributes mail; drafts written responses or replies by phone or e-mail; prepares time and attendance records; responds to regularly occurring requests for information; answers phones for Director and department and acts as a liaison with other departments and outside agencies.

Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.  Minimum of three (3) years of general clerical experience. Work experience in municipal government preferred. Must possess strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; experience in MSI and Prime point preferred.

Rate: $26.21 per hour. Part-time; not to exceed 28 hours per week.
