Camp Counselor

Part Time Temporary. The Camp Counselor position is a summer-seasonal position performed under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor. Incumbents in this position are responsible for leading, directing, and assisting youth enrolled in summer camp group activities, educational programs, arts and crafts, team sports, off-site field trips. Assists in the coordination of program activities including but not limited to team sports, games, arts and crafts, workshops, special events and off-site field trips. Guides and supports individual campers in participating successfully in summer camp activities. Enforces summer camp safety rules and carries out established procedures for ensuring the health and safety of summer camp participants. Cleans, maintains, and ensures proper use of all camp facilities and equipment. Performs other related job duties as assigned. Must have High school diploma or GED plus a minimum of three (3) months of experience working or volunteering with children in a camp setting, youth program, recreation or in a related field. Must obtain First Aid and CPR AED Heartsaver certification prior to the commencement of summer camp. Must be able to swim. Mandatory orientation for Camp Counselors will be held prior to the commencement of summer camp.

Pay range: $15.43 to $24.69 per hour. Starting rate dependent upon qualifications.
