Vehicle Mechanic Technician
This position has responsibility for the maintenance and overall condition of town and school vehicles, including CDL, heavy equipment, mini-buses, ambulance, police vehicles, fire trucks, etc. in a reliable and safe condition according to approved standards. Performs routine, specialized and preventive maintenance for all vehicle/equipment in the most cost effective manner.
Must have a High School Diploma or GED with 3 or more years of vehicle and/or heavy equipment mechanic experience; Vocational School or certification may substitute for one year of experience; Vocational Experience preferred. Must have and maintain: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with airbrakes endorsement.

Examinations may include written, oral, physical, or performance tests or any combination of the various types of examinations. Offers of employment are contingent upon satisfactory results of a background check, pre-employment physical and drug test and verification of information on the employment application.
