Assistant Purchasing Manager
Salary Range: $68,757 - $106,121
“expected starting pay maximum is mid-range”
Working under the direction of the Purchasing and Risk Manager, the purposes of this position are to plan, organize, conduct, and administer activities of the Town’s comprehensive procurement programs. The Assistant Purchasing Manager will assist in managing the purchasing process and bid/RFP process. This position will prepare, review, negotiate and administer contracts and purchase orders for all town operations. This position will be responsible for maintaining the fixed assets for the Town, performs a variety of other routine and complex transactions, administrative tasks, and otherwise maintains detailed records. The Assistant Purchasing Manager is required to exercise good judgment and discretion in administering the purchasing details under their control and is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her control.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business or Public Administration, Accounting or a closely related field from an accredited college or university and have over two (2) years of experience in public or private purchasing or related work experience or any equivalent combination of education, training and work experience. Must have and maintain Motor Vehicle Driver’s License.
