Part-Time Library Assistant (Technical Services)

The Town of North Branford is accepting applications from resourceful and detail-oriented individuals to work primarily in our Technical Services Department in the Atwater and Smith Libraries. Under the direction of the Technical Services Librarian, work involves the processing, cataloging, and classification of material for circulation and bibliographic maintenance. This position works closely with the public. Responsibilities include routine circulation tasks, responding to inquiries, and assisting patrons with library resources, services, and technology. The ideal candidate is familiar with cataloging standards including MARC, RDA, and Dewey Decimal classification and possesses excellent customer service and communication skills. High school diploma or equivalent is required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience working in a library or similar setting is preferred, but not required. This is a part-time, 16-hour per week position, including evenings and some weekends. Salary range $16.47-$20.02 per hour, depending on qualifications. No benefits.
