Emergency Management Director

Town of North Branford is accepting applications for the position of Emergency Management Director Directs & coordinates the Emergency Management Program for the Town of North Branford and advises the Town Manager on all Emergency Management matters. Develops disaster planning, management and recovery plans outlining the strategy, operations, and communications associated there with. Assesses, plans, and implements best practice standards and assures compliance with local, State, and Federal guidelines related to natural, environmental, and other disasters and emergencies. Must have an Associate’s degree in criminal justice, emergency management, homeland security, or related field, Bachelor’s preferred. Education must be supplemented by 7 years’ experience (10 years’ preferred) in emergency management, public safety, or disaster recovery, including 3 years in a supervisory operational capacity. Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Certified Emergency Manager designation preferred. Must possess or be able to obtain Incident Command Systems Certification within 1 year. This position is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Salary is $5,200/year without benefits.
