Join us in cultivating a creative center focused around the discovery and promotion of the arts. Red Brick Center for the Arts is looking to hire an Art Guest Service position for the summer season.
Job Title: Art Guest Services
Department: Red Brick Center for the Arts
Temporary Position: end of May – September
Work Hours: Saturdays 10am – 4pm and 1 to 2 week days from 9am – 5pm. May include night event hours till 8pm.
Position Summary: Welcome guests to Red Brick Center for the Arts and carry out administrative tasks and projects.
Essential Job Functions
Welcome guests and patrons to the Red Brick Center for the Arts offering a high level of customer service and attentiveness.
Inform guests of the Red Brick’s arts programming, facility uses, tenants and upcoming events.
Offer general information on current gallery exhibition and artworks.
Process sales of artworks.
Inspect public spaces in the facility confirming cleanliness and orderliness. Address any issues and return furniture to proper location.
Answer phones and give information as requested. Return phone calls as necessary.
Review general email account redbrickarts@cityofaspen, answering emails or directing to appropriate person to respond.
In case of emergency or facility issues contact correct personnel and follow emergency protocol.
Register patrons for arts programming classes and facility room rentals.
Perform tasks and projects as instructed by Director which may include:
Assist in the creation of marketing flyers for upcoming arts programming.
Create social media postings.
Post upcoming events to online arts and culture calendars.
Create artwork wall labels and artist’s bio labels.
Organize and clean art supplies in art classroom.
Order art supplies as instructed by Director.
Distribute flyers and marketing materials to locations and businesses around town.
Email artists requesting exhibition materials and file where appropriate.
Set-up for gallery opening events and clean-up following end of events.
During events, speak with guests and artists. Oversee cleanliness of gallery.
Assist Art Educators in the art classroom with youth and adult arts education programming. As directed by the Art Educator, prepare art supplies, help youth with tasks, clean classroom and supplies following class.
Participate in creating a safe and fun learning environment for patrons and staff.
Ability to communicate effectively with Director and Red Brick Center for the Arts staff.
Engage effectively with guests and patrons and create an enjoyable, professional experience.
Possess interpersonal skills including understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy and politeness to others. Relates well to different people from varied backgrounds.
Ability to provide excellent customer service.
Willingness to learn new online platforms.
Interest in community arts
High School education
Must possess a valid Colorado driver’s license
Fluent in Word and emails
Comfortable with using the internet and different websites
NOTE: This position requires a Criminal Background Check and Driver’s License check upon hire. Employment is contingent upon passing the background check and driver’s license check.
