Front Desk Representative
The Orthopaedic Center, a growing fellowship trained group of orthopaedic and spine surgeons, is seeking a Front Desk Representative.
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Responsible for greeting customers, providing information, communicating with departments, collecting co-pays and balances, checking patients in and out, and scheduling appointments.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Greets patients and visitors in polite, prompt, helpful manner. Provides necessary instructions/directions. Informs appropriate department/person of patient’s arrival.
2. Completes necessary paperwork and enters patient’s demographics in computer system. Scans necessary documents.
3. Updates patient information, collects co-pays, provides any necessary forms needing completion, and obtains signatures as necessary.
4. Prepares cashier drawers with specified opening balance of currency and coins.
5. Maintains clean, orderly waiting area and reading materials.
6. Answers phones in pleasant manner and deals with customer needs expeditiously.
7. Performs other job duties as requested, not necessarily related to job position.
EDUCATION: High school diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of one year experience in customer service setting, preferably six months receptionist experience in health care setting.
REQUIREMENTS: 35-40 wpm typing skill preferred.
