Advertising Sales Representative
This position focuses on tactical and rapid account development by developing new revenue streams with existing clients in an effort to grow advertising revenue in the local retail business category.
The primary responsibilities include: Strategic prospecting, conducting needs assessments, idea and proposal generation, presentation of advertising recommendations and closing the sale. A key element of this position is to deliver exceptional customer service to current and prospective advertisers. It will be necessary to meet with individual clients monthly, annually or quarterly to review campaign progress, budgets and create new strategies. The position utilizes the team selling approach and includes the Customer Service Assistant (CSA).
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Target business opportunities through strategic prospecting and fact-finding. Exhibit a consultative selling style by conducting needs analyses - asking key questions to learn the business goal and objectives of the prospect. Analyze clients' advertising campaign objectives in order to prepare an effective and creative solution that includes the appropriate products that fit the clients' budget and campaign goals. Effectively present solution-based advertising proposals and recommendations to quickly close new business. Solutions should often be packaged based to include both print and online products. Meet established monthly/annual revenue and account development goals. Maintain focus and discipline in fulfilling roles and executing commitments. Put company and team goals first. Communicate and collaborate with sales manager to develop account strategies that adhere to sales retention and acquisition goals. Produce accurate work, keeping adjustments to a minimum while adhering to deadlines. Keep client files organized; update key contact information in DTI or other easily accessible format. Provide input for sales manager that emphasizes sales opportunities and customer satisfaction, addresses challenges and describes general business conditions. Submit reports and forecasts in a timely manner. Maintain the dignity and identity of the team and team members. Generate and sustain a spirit of team success. Learn, adapt and innovate on a continuing basis. Advocate and demonstrate a superior level of excellent internal and external customer service. Timely attendance during a regular and predictable schedule is required. Certain critical times of the workday exist during which duties of this position must be performed.

Minimum Education & Work Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; BA/BS in Advertising, Marketing or related field preferred. Minimum of 2-3 years sales experience; track record of success in prospecting and closing new business. Advertising experience a plus.

Other Requirements: This is an outside sales position which requires the employee to travel by car or other form of reliable transportation. When driving a vehicle, employee must maintain a valid driver's license in good standing, vehicle insurance as required by law and follow safety driving guidelines and laws. This position requires employees to carry a cellular device. Cellular phone usage for company business is reimbursed in accordance with company policy. Scheduling flexibility is required to accommodate changing business needs.
