Falkirk lignite is sold to GRE's Coal Creek Station, an approximately 1,100 megawatt electric generating plant, and GRE's Spiritwood Station, steam host for two 99 megawatt industrial customers. GRE provides power to its 28 member cooperative, covering roughly two-thirds of rural Minnesota.
