Position Description: Summit County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a qualified Patrol Cadet. The applicant selected for the position attends a Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Law Enforcement Academy to obtain POST Certification. Upon POST Certification, the Patrol Cadet promotes to Patrol Deputy. The Patrol Cadet’s primary job location is at a POST Academy located in either the Denver Metropolitan Area or Glenwood Springs.
Minimum Qualifications: Must be Colorado POST certifiable. Other minimum requirements: 21 years of age, high school diploma or equivalent, valid CO Driver's License. Must pass written, oral, physical, psychological, polygraph and background tests.
Hiring Range: $21.60 per hour plus excellent benefits package. Pay rate increases to $25.66 per hour upon POST Certification and promotion to Patrol Deputy. The position is budgeted as full-time, 40 hours per week.
