Transportation Planner
Summit County, located in Utah, is seeking candidates for Transportation Planner able to perform a variety of entry-level professional and technical duties related to implementing department work plans and programs. Under the supervision of the Director, implements the County's transportation planning programs and develops transportation programs for the County. Coordinates the day-to-day activities associated with transportation and transportation planning programs, which includes, planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating projects, processes, procedures, systems, and standards; ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards related to transportation planning for the County. Responds to inquiries, concerns, and complaints from citizens, internal departments, and/or other interested parties. Assists with a wide range of transit and transportation-related planning studies including transit development plans, multi-modal corridor plans, strategic plans, and environmental studies in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Develops presentation, memorandums, reports, and other materials effectively communicating complex information to elected officials, executives, and other stakeholders. Prepares clear, sound, accurate and informative transportation planning reports, and studies containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Plans, develops, and implements complex projects in assigned areas of responsibility. Performs other duties as assigned. Works under the direct supervision of the Regional Transportation Planning Director.
Salary Range: $53,928.40 - $75,587.29/annually
Minimum Qualifications:
• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or a closely related field.
• One (1) year of responsible experience performing above or related duties.
• or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with the State of Utah.
