Corrections Cook

Summit County, located in Utah, is currently accepting applications for a Corrections Cook to join our staff of professional deputies and civilians as we strive to serve every member of our community with professionalism and integrity. Essential functions include but are not limited to, preparing meals; prepares food by washing, peeling, trimming, and cutting; measures ingredients according to recipe, using a variety of kitchen equipment; bakes biscuits, pies, cakes, etc. Cooks and prepares food for meals as scheduled by pre-planned menus. Adjusts pre-planned menus as needed to accommodate necessary food substitutes; prepares meals for special diets; adjusts recipe proportions as needed. Cleans equipment used; washes pots and pans; sweeps and mops kitchen floor; cleans working area. Performs other duties as required. Works under the close to general supervision of the Corrections Cook II or Officer in Charge. May hire a Corrections Cook I or II depending on submitted qualifications and experience. May supervise inmates in kitchen clean-up and food preparation.

Corrections Cook I
Salary Range: $18.02 - $25.25/hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or equivalent
- One (1) year experience in institution, restaurant, or related food service experience.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Must possess a food handler's permit.
- Must possess a valid Utah driver's license.
- Must possess a HACCP Safe Serve National Restaurant Certification within three (3) months of hire date.

Corrections Cook II
Salary Range: $19.11 - $26.75/hour.
