The following employment opportunity is available with the Town of Stonington. Fiscal Assistant Stonington Town Hall Full-time union position.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Performs related accounts payable computerized accounting, budget control and check preparation procedures.
- Logs and schedules invoices for payment.
- Distributes checks to vendors and files documents.
- Processes year-end 1099s for vendors.
- Keeps track of Fixed Asset purchases throughout the year, and maintains database of all fixed assets.
- Works with Director of Administrative Services to solicit, compile, and maintain schedule of annual Departmental Capital Improvement requests.
- Receive and post payments for General Billing system in Munis.
- Complete and submit quarterly Connecticut Animal Adoption reports.
- Post and maintain bid requests on Finance website.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Collaborate with Senior Accountant for annual fiscal year closeout.
- Run postage on outgoing mail on as needed basis.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to organize and express thoughts and ideas through written and oral communications.
- Ability to maintain complex and confidential records and prepare accurate reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, Town officials, other departments and agencies, and office staff.
