Wonderful opportunity to join the diversified Payroll Department of Cowles Company. We are currently looking for an experienced payroll person to assist with the preparation of biweekly payrolls for multiple affiliate companies across several states. Responsibilities include payroll, tax compliance, compensation and benefits taxation.
Specific responsibilities include inputting the accurate and timely data of all payroll related information; initiating transfers of funds and data files for payments of Federal and State taxes, and retirement plans contributions; preparing and reconciling quarterly and year-end payroll tax reports, including W-2’s; reviewing and maintaining related audit trails and controls; implementing garnishments; and processing fringe and benefit enrollments.
Duties also include maintaining our time keeping system by data entry, importing hours and leave accruals. This is a highly confidential, deadline driven position that requires the ability to multitask, stay focused, and produce results that are accurate and error free. Successful candidate must have experience working in positions that required a keen attention to detail and the timely preparation of various reconciliations. We require a minimum of 5-years full charge payroll experience. Preference will be given to applicants with experience working with PDS/Vista HRMS System or another fully integrated payroll/HR system. Payroll certification (CPP), accounting degree, and experience communicating directly with Senior Accountants will be a plus.
