Municipal & Industrial Operations Superintendent

The Municipal & Industrial (M&I) Operations Superintendent is responsible for planning, organizing, assigning, directing, supervising, and evaluating the operations, maintenance, and repair of the water treatment and municipal and industrial water distribution systems under control of the District, including potable and non-potable systems. They are responsible for regulatory activities with the California State Water Resources Control Board, and the Solano County Water Agency and partner agencies and provide highly complex assistance to the Water & Power Operations Director. 

The ideal candidate is highly organized and decisive, and is an innovative leader with strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will have the ability to use independent judgment to perform work tasks within established operational parameters. A successful candidate will have the ability to excel at building and maintaining long-term trusting relationships with the District’s customers, partner agencies, and staff. 

Qualifications

Any combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates possession of the knowledge and abilities stated above and the ability to perform the duties of the position.

Experience and Education

• Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in performing the design, operations, maintenance, repair or construction for a water district of a variety of types and sizes of water distribution systems, water treatment facilities and pumping plants, one (1) year of which in a supervisory capacity.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Licenses and Certification

• A valid California motor vehicle operator’s license with a satisfactory driving record to maintain insurability are required.
• Possession of a valid California State Water Resources Control Board Treatment Level T-4 and Distribution Level D-4 is desirable.
