Basic Responsibilities: Successfully learn, assist, or manage and perform duties in support of the District's Accident Prevention Program in a safe and timely manner. Acts as a liaison (with the delegated authority of the Sr. Mgr., Safety and Line Training, Senior Safety Specialist, or Safety Specialist), with Federal, State and professional/technical/regulatory agencies and the public for the promotion of employee and public safety. Provides guidance on safety issues to District staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Assistant Safety Specialist Four (4) years of electric utility experience in a capacity where communication, customer service, and working with others is a primary function; AND Four (4) years' experience performing customer service, project management, contract administration, or related duties in an electric utility related business. Safety Specialist Two (2) years progressively more responsible experience providing safety-related training, inspection, and program development in the electric utility related business. OR Senior Safety Specialist Eight (8) years of utility experience working directly in a safety-related field providing safety related training and inspection AND including at least two (2) years of experience with program development; OR Eight (8) years' experience as a Journeyman Lineman or Journeyman Substation Wireman AND including over a two-year period of time having served in a safety-related function (i.e. safety committee, safety chair, or related). License or Certification: Washington State Driver's License.
