SAFETY

responsible for understanding the potential hazards of his/her job and will demonstrate proficiency in the use of identified
controls.
PURPOSE OF JOB
This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities to assist providers and nursing personnel. Facilitates
patient/physician/provider communication and coordination of care.
JOB FUNCTIONS
List the major areas of responsibility. Should begin with a verb that infers action and should describe the end result of which the job is
intended to accomplish.
1. Escorts patients to examination room and obtains vitals and documents in EMR.
2. Administers prescribed medications/vaccine's and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification/licensure.
3. Prepares equipment and assists providers during examination, testing and treatment of patients.
4. Performs room turn over in patient rooms between cases and at the end of the day.
5. Assists in maintaining stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam rooms.
6. Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary.
7. Assists with patient education.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
When functioning as a Clinic Specialist may be required to complete one or more of the following:
1. Assists with new employee department/clinic orientation.
2. Assists the Clinic Manager with meetings, meeting minutes and projects.
3. Facilitates order and inventory processes for the clinic.
4. Receives or delivers communication on behalf of Clinic Manager.
5. Serves as a resource to clinic staff in the absence of the Clinic Manager.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education/Work Experience
● Graduation from Medical Assisting program or School of Practical Nursing
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
● Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
● Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job
functions as mentioned above

● Ability to multi-task
● Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
● Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
● Ability to work autonomously and as a team
● Capable of making independent decisions with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
● Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job
functions as mentioned above

Current LPN Licensure or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (LPN's and MA's will have 1
year to become licensed/certified in order to maintain employment)
