The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office seeks qualified applicants
to establish eligibility lists for the position of
Work involves maintaining the security of Pueblo County Detention Center while preserving order to ensure the safety and welfare of staff, visitors and inmates. This includes processing and supervising detainees/inmates, operating the jail facility, and performing related duties. Testing includes, but is not limited to, a written test and assessment center.
This position requires shift work, including weekends and holidays.
Entry level positions begin at $4,004.00 per month with benefits.
Candidates for all positions must be at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. The expected duration of the testing process will not normally exceed four months. Eligibility lists will be created based on the testing results. Once the lists are certified, they will be in place for one year unless extended or revoked by the Sheriff. Prior to employment, candidates will complete a background investigation, polygraph examination, physical examination, and drug screen. A psychological evaluation will be required for Deputy Sheriff Patrol, Detention Deputy, and Communications Officer positions.
