Job Summary:
The sales consultant assists walk in and phone customers with the sale of new products as well as trouble shooting products and services for customers on a regular basis.
Prior farm and/or livestock experience is essential.

Job Responsibilities:
-Performs the functions of a CSA to include initiating and following up with customers to sell or resolve problems, answer questions and correspondence, and complete reports.
-Prepares, processes, reviews and monitors various documents such as invoices and other documents.
-Prepares and presents proposals and quotes and recommends products based on customer needs.
-Assists customers and arranges payment terms in accordance with established guidelines.
-Performs in a manner that will prevent errors and omissions.
-Prepares and calculates product sales, invoicing, and other related functions.
-Attends sales seminars, sales meetings or educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, trends and regulations in the marketplace.
-Provides administrative assistance and support.

This job is required to rotate and/or fill in for other departments and positions based on business needs and seasonal requirements.

Education, Experience, Technical Knowledge and Skills:
-High school diploma or GED diploma and two to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
-Associate degree is preferred.
-One to two years of related Sales/Customer Service experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education is preferred.
-Prior farm and/or livestock experience is preferred.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
