Head Start Teacher
In this position, the Head Start Teacher will implement the education and early childhood development program as required by Administration for Children and Families (ACF) in Head Start Centers as assigned by the Child Services Education Manager. Associates of Arts in Early Childhood Development or a related filed and at least two years of experience in Early Childhood Development. A Bachelor's of Science in Early Childhood Development or related field is preferred. Must obtain CDL within 90 days.
Responsibilities: Organize classroom space into function areas (interest centers) that are recognizable by the children. Maintain a clean and healthy classroom environment. Maintain a safe environment indoors/outdoors. Keep classroom arranged in an orderly manner and materials readily accessible for the children. Maintain a filing system and accurate record keeping with confidentiality. Establish classroom rules that are appropriate for the age level of the children and post them in the classroom. Observation health/physical needs of the children upon arrival every day and make referrals as needed for health and abuse problems. Help to administer the Dial-4 to enrollees. Make observations and take anecdotal notes based on the child's needs. Refer children with suspected developmental problems to the Disability/Mental Health Manager.
All positions will require a drug test and background check. Reliable transportation is necessary.
