Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management

Full Time

Salary Range

$142,000 to $206,000

Reporting directly to the President, the Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management (VPSEM), acts as a central node in the university’s “neural network”, playing a crucial role in developing and implementing a comprehensive enrollment strategy that aligns with the institution’s mission, vision, and goals. The VPSEM is responsible for leading the university’s efforts to recruit and enroll a diverse and talented student body, ensuring the institution’s long-term sustainability and success.

The VPSEM directly oversees the offices of Enrollment Marketing, Financial Aid, Graduate Admissions, Institutional Research, and Undergraduate Admissions, functioning as the hub through which information, strategy, and innovation flow. The vice president also provides strategic enrollment vision to key university partners that impact the university’s ability to meet enrollment goals. By promoting a culture of collaboration and mutual support, the VPSEM serves as the central point of contact for all strategies impacting the institution’s ability to reach enrollment goals. This includes ongoing collaboration with leadership from Academic Affairs, Finance and Administration, Student Affairs, and University Marketing. Whether focusing on undergraduate, graduate, or professional programs, both online and on-campus, the VPSEM’s leadership ensures that the entire university network is synchronized in its efforts to achieve enrollment and financial stability.

As PennWest is a regionally focused recently integrated institution, this position will lead efforts to recruit students from across the country and around the globe, but the primary focus will be on recruiting students from Western Pennsylvania. • Leverage data analytics and market research to drive informed decision-making and enhance enrollment strategies, with a focus on increasing market share in Western Pennsylvania among traditional-aged students seeking a residential learning community, while also attracting both undergraduate and graduate online learners.

  • Serve on the President’s Cabinet and act as the President’s primary liaison for all matters related to enrollment.

  • Provide leadership to the Associate Vice President for Strategic Enrollment Management, the Chief Data Officer, the Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Marketing and Systems, as well as the VPSEM’s executive assistant.

  • Manage the division’s $3.7 million operating budget and $4.5 million personnel budgets. Additionally, manage the institution’s grant and scholarship student aid programs to include: $92 million federal, $10 million in state aid, and $18 million in institutional aid.
