JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: The following position is available with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education.

Skills Center Superintendent

Provides statewide leadership for the administration of Skills Centers educational programs located inside and out of correctional facilities for Oklahoma’s system of Career and Technology Education. Requires a bachelor’s degree. Five years successful teaching/educational administration experience, with a master’s degree and at least 3 years’ experience in supervision of career and technology education programs preferred. Experience in correctional settings is also preferred. Occasional travel, including some overnight stays. Requires valid driver’s license. Position based in Stillwater, OK.

Duties/Essential Functions: 1. Provide leadership, vision, and direction to Skills Centers staff to ensure system quality. 2. Provide supervision, and performance appraisal to supervised staff to ensure instructional quality. 3. Serve as a liaison to Skills Centers partners (i.e. Department of Corrections, Office of Juvenile Affairs, Department of Education, Department of Commerce, faith-based re-entry groups, universities) and other appropriate agencies. 4. Use data to evaluate the effectiveness and determine future direction for Skills Centers training and operations. 5. Represent Skills Centers at meetings and conferences on issues related to instructional issues, policies, and training. 6. Communicate effectively with staff to keep them informed of new initiatives and current information, and to keep them aware of mission and outcomes related information. 7. Accurately prepare, maintain, and submit all required records and reports efficiently. 8. Monitors teacher accreditation process and revises as needed. 9. Assist in the administration and implementation of personnel policies in the Skills Centers. 10. Manage short-term projects, conduct research, and participate in grant proposal development as assigned by the Administration. 11. Perform duties as assigned.

Salary/Benefits: $70,766.48 - $82,914.37 commensurate with education or experience.
