The Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette has an opening for a feature writer in its Fayetteville office. The right candidate for this position will develop sources in the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas, engage community leaders, and be willing to learn. The position will write on visual and performing arts and other duties as assigned. This person also will develop features to give our readers a sense of the people and places that make this a special place.

We're looking for a writer who can tell stories on multiple platforms, including podcasts and audio and is comfortable on social media. The position requires some nights and occasional weekend work but is generally 9-6 Monday through Friday and answers to the features editor. A college degree is preferred, but experience will be considered. Working knowledge of the AP style and principles of journalism is also required—experience at a college, weekly or daily publication a plus.
