Position Responsibilities:
This position exists to develop and provide guidance to the National Center for Autonomous Technologies (NCAT) communications team from an Equity and Inclusion lens. The primary responsibility will be to aid the NCAT Director, faculty, and other stakeholders in communication and marketing initiatives as defined by NCAT leadership. The position will define and coordinate communication strategies and aid center stakeholders in the development of ongoing and new activities. This position works as part of a team committed to the academic excellence of the center by providing instruction to stakeholders needing supplemental assistance, working closely with faculty, responding to marketing and communication requests, and representing the center values within relevant campus and/or community groups. This position is the primary point of contact for all equity and inclusion initiatives, communications, and marketing for the National Center of Autonomous Technologies. Scope of the work includes but is not limited to research, development, soliciting, writing, and editing work for the Web site, marketing campaigns, publications, events, public relations initiatives, and center and community awareness activities. Additionally, the incumbent will assist in the development and enhancement of new media strategies and electronic communications.

This position will also represent NCAT leadership and/or NCTC at STEM fairs, career fairs, exhibits and conferences and work with the NCAT Director and various NCAT stakeholders to develop new initiatives, service-learning opportunities, summer camps, workshops, and support the NCAT educational hub mission.

1. Serve and Primary Communications Director for the NCAT.
2. Equity and Inclusion Coordinator for NCAT.
3. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the reputation of the organization as a viable business partner.

Minimum Qualifications (expected to have to enter job)
* Two-year degree or 2-3 years of relevant work experience or combination of both.
* Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations.
* Must be well organized and have good oral and written communication skills.
* Knowledgeable of underrepresented student issues and concerns and financial resources available to students.
* Must also work well in a team situation to develop relationships amongst the students and employees.
* High level of knowledge in underrepresented student retention and student success.
* Ability to implement projects without direct supervision and consult with the Dean of Student Affairs at NCTC when problems arise. Works with the Enrollment Management, Admissions, and Diversity offices to ensure continuity and collaboration of services.
* Serve as a resource person to the community regarding needs of underrepresented students.

Preferred Qualifications (desired but not expected to have to enter job)
* Bachelor's degree in related field.
* The coordinator would be able to understand complex issues that impact the College and its students, and work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and staff to resolve issues related to student life and success.
* The coordinator would possess (or be amenable to learning) skills related to issues of poverty, financial pressure among key student populations, and helping students increase academic and financial resiliency.
* The coordinator would possess (or be amendable to learning) skills related to conflict resolution and de-escalation.
