Nobles County has an opening to appoint a County Attorney to complete an unexpired elected term through December 31, 2022. The Nobles County Attorney is the chief prosecutor and provides legal services, representation and advice for Nobles County, its agencies and its officials.
Scope of job:
The County Attorney has a number of duties that are defined by various Minnesota Statutes, including but not limited to Minnesota Statutes Section 388.051, and in addition has responsibility for supervision of assigned staff and outsourced partners, representing and advising the County Board, and serving as the chief communicator for the County Attorney’s office. The County Attorney Leads the County Attorney office through developing and managing the department budget, personnel, resources and equipment.

The County Attorney supervises and evaluates assigned staff:
• Interviews prospective hires, and supervises, assigns and evaluates assigned staff:
• Manages employee concerns within the County Attorney’s office, directs work assignments, reviews and evaluates work product and work performance, and when necessary, counsels/makes corrective action employee determinations;
Qualifications: Must be a resident of Nobles County within 90 days of hire.
