We are accepting applications for a full-time position as College Workforce Counselor in the Today's Youth Program.
Responsibilities: Assists in determining participant eligibility based on income, WIOA guidelines, and need for Today's Youth services; coordinates all counseling and outreach services including tutoring, academic and career counseling, workshops, and referral services; develops and maintains an outreach schedule into multiple (ten county service region) counties for the purpose of providing services to participants and businesses offering work experiences, and informing community agencies and prospective participants about programs of postsecondary education, careers, work experience opportunities, and the Today's Youth scholarship. These activities will support youth to be successful in a postsecondary institution or work experience.
Qualifications: A Bachelor's Degree in a human service, social service, student services field or closely related field is required, as well as two years of experience in a social services setting as a social worker, community outreach worker, employment and training specialist or other related position.
Desired Qualifications: Previous experience working with educational or economically disadvantaged youth and knowledge of community human services resources is very desirable. Success in overcoming the disadvantages of circumstances similar to those of the population of the target area. Must be flexible and able to adjust to change as position works to meet various individual participant needs.
