Activities Coordinator
Description: Coordinates the scheduling of varied recreational activities for youth, adults, and seniors in the community; organizes and supervises athletic leagues, teams and recreation programs (e.g., dance, arts); performs related duties as required. Work is performed under general direction from the Director of Recreation, who reviews performance for conformance to departmental policies and procedures.
Duties: Plans, implements, and supervises recreational programs for residents of all ages; assigns recreation employees, schedules activities and facilities, and registers participants. Hires umpires and staff for all recreation activities, including sports leagues. Prepares reports on activities, permits issued, and scheduling of events of the recreational facility. Maintains time records of employees. Compiles statistical and other data; maintains records and files. Handles requests for information concerning activities of the park or recreational site.
Requirements: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from a high school. One (1) year of experience in work involved in the scheduling of numerous and varied social or recreational or educational or sporting events or programs. Position requires off hours availability to work nights and weekends as situations warrant. Salary: $25.00 per hour. Part-time; not to exceed 25 hours per week. Temporary assignment.
