The Office is currently seeking 3 Investigators to join our Office.

Specific openings are detailed below:

  • 1 Investigator for the Consumer Protection Section
  • 1 Investigator for the Consumer Wage and Antitrust Division
  • 1 Investigator for the Wage Theft Unit

A successful candidate in this position will be able to:

  • Perform field work by conducting research and interviewing witnesses and victims;
  • Draft witness statements and reports summarizing investigative findings;
  • Analyze business records, including financial statements, profit and loss data, review email correspondence, and licensure data;
  • Prepare documents for production in litigation and track discovery-related matters;
  • Organize, review, analyze, and summarize large amounts of information;
  • Assist attorneys and administrative staff with preparing discovery items, court exhibits and various types of evidence; and
  • Appear and testify as a witness in court proceedings.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrable similar experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience and skill in research and writing, critical thinking, and communication
  • Experience in interviewing people using empathy and respect
  • Ability to:
    • Perform responsibilities with a high level of professionalism
    • Demonstrate excellent judgement, character, and work ethic
    • Contribute positively to a team and work in a diverse, inclusive, creative, and collaborative work environment  

To be considered at the LA6 level, candidates must have 6 years of related experience.  To be considered at the LA7 level, candidates must have 12 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Spanish, Hmong, Somali, or other relevant language to Minnesota’s communities
  • Education in social work, investigations, accounting, finance, statistics, or similar field
  • Experience in fraud investigations
