Well established North Bay Electrical Contractor seeking a Project Engineer or Project Administrator to work in our Corporate office to support Project Managers and Superintendents with the daily operations of the projects. This will be a very fast paced position.  The right candidate should be ready and willing to jump in the mix and take control of what needs to be done.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Able to perform all essential Project Engineer/Project Administrator duties with minimum supervision
  • Scheduling and coordinating project meetings.  Maintaining attendance logs and preparing project meeting minutes.
  • Set up and maintain project filing system
  • Update and maintain all sets of drawings, specifications and logs
  • Assist with preparation and updating of CPM schedules
  • Assist in management of project documentation and ensure proper approvals/signatures and maintain document logs
  • Document RFI’s, prepare and maintain RFI logs
  • Prepare/transmit submittals and maintain submittal logs
  • Prepare and document extra work orders
  • Prepare/transmit change order submittals and maintain change order logs
  • Compile contract close out documents (O&M manuals, as builts, etc.)
  • Document punch list work
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in MS Office environment, including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Understands engineering and construction language and is able to communicate effectively within the construction environment
  • Ability to adapt easily and accept changing situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Ability to take direction and support multiple people

EXPERIENCE DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 years in Project Engineer/ Project Administrator experience
  • Ability to read and understand plans
  • Engineering, Construction Management, or completion of Construction Management Certificate Program, or equivalent a PLUS
  • Field experience a plus i.e. Electrician
