About the Employer
The Mendocino County Office of Education is a public agency whose primary purpose is to provide educational leadership, resources and services to schools to ensure wide-ranging educational opportunities for all students. This mission is accomplished through cooperative efforts with teachers, school districts, families, and communities; through direct instructional programs and administrative services; and through coordination with the California Department of Education and other agencies.
Under the direction of the County Superintendent, the Public Relations Coordinator develops, executes, and maintains a public relations strategy to maintain positive community relations for the Mendocino County Office of Education (MCOE). The coordinator maintains MCOE branding, updates website content, manages the agency’s social media presence, assists in the marketing of various MCOE programs and initiatives, and supports the County Superintendent’s public presence.
Requirements / Qualifications
• Three (3) years of relevant, job-related experience and demonstrated competence in marketing and branding strategy, communications, and web/social media content development; • Associates degree in communications, public affairs, journalism, or related discipline is preferred; • Possess or obtain upon employment a valid California Driver's License; • Provide proof of automobile insurance; • Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting twenty-five (25) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds with assistance.
