Italian Specialty Chef Marku Brothers, LLC DBA Buon Appetito Ristorante & Pizzeria has an immediate opening for an Chef in North Stonington, CT.
Duties: Direct, prepare and cook italian style cuisine such as soups, salads, vegetables, fresh seafood dishes, fish sauces and meat sauces such as Bolognese, Amatriciana, and Boscaiola. Prepare handmade pastas including Ravioli, Mezze lune ripiene, Gnocchi, Cannelloni, Tortellini, Tortelloni, Tagliatelle, Tagliolini Pepperdalle, Passatelli, Strozzapreti, Canederli and Panzerotti. Order and maintain the inventory of food and supplies. Check for freshness of food and ingredients. Develop italian food recipes. Create menus and ensure the quality of the meals. Instruct the staff in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food. Prepare Italian Pastry including Semifreddo Torroncino Gelato and chocolate Souffle. Estimate amounts and costs of food and ingredients. Monitor sanitation practices and follow kitchen safety standards.
Requirements: Two (2) years of prior experience as an Italian Specialty Chef is required. Must have earned a High School/GED Diploma or its equivalent.
