Lower Gwynedd Township (Pop. 11,405), a Township of the Second Class in Montgomery County, PA is seeking resumes for the position of Finance Director.
The Finance Director is responsible for the management of a $30 Million budget ($8 million general fund) and all finance functions associated, including budget preparation, monthly financial reports, audits, pension funds, payroll for 38 full-time employees and 11 part-time employees, bank reconciliations, and invoices, in addition to supervising the finance department, consultants, and vendors. This department-head position involves complex supervisory, administrative and technical activity in maintaining financial, accounting, and personnel-related records and systems. The Finance Director will also keep the Board of Supervisors and Township Manager updated on the financial condition of the Township and from time to time make budget and/or financial presentations to the Board of Supervisors at public meetings.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of municipal fiscal procedures and policies, financial accounting software, supervisory experience in a municipal environment, and will operate within the accepted governmental accounting principles. Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, public or business administration or related field is required. A minimum of 5 years experience in a progressively responsible financial management position. The salary range for this position is $95,000-$110,000 dependent on qualifications.
