The Lebanon Board of Education is currently seeking qualified applicants for the following positions:

Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent


High school diploma Post-secondary education desirable. Exhibit competency in general office procedures. Proficient in Word, Excel, Access, Google Familiar with budgetary procedures. Knowledgeable of payroll processes. Knowledgeable of personnel processes Demonstrates good communication skills maintaining cooperative working relationships with administrators, teaching staff, office personnel, parents and the general public. Discreet in matters of confidentiality. Previous secretarial experience in educational setting preferred.

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Composition of routine correspondence without assis­tance
  • Type and process all correspondence and disseminate to correct individuals or departments
  • Responsible for processing free/reduced meal applications, including entering into software and sending notification to parent/guardian
  • Responsible for setting up and providing all new employees with employment information including salary, benefits, retirement etc., including substitutes
  • Maintain personnel records, database and files, including certification status
  • Responsible for employee insurance enrollment and changes, including retiree insurance
  • Maintain extra-curricular stipend data and issue contracts to staff
  • Responsible for out-of-district tuition and special education billing semi-annually, including collecting payment and sending to Town
  • Assist bookkeeper with bi-weekly payroll processing, including processing monthly transmittal to Teacher’s Retirement
  • Prepare Board of Education agendas and Board packets at the direction of the Superintendent, including emailing to members, administrators and staff
  • Review and revise Board of Education meeting minutes Post all agendas and minutes to Town website and email to District website manager for posting
  • Assist Business Manager and Facilities Manager as needed
  • Process mail and inter-office correspondence and dispense to the proper individual or department
  • Process building use forms, student insurance claims, worker’s comp claims
  • Receive and direct telephone calls to proper individ­uals and place necessary outside calls
  • Maintain postage meter and replenish office supply inventory
  • Schedule appointments and arrange conferences and employment interviews, including placing ads and pro­cessing applications
  • Complete state reports timely and accurately
  • Greet visitors and directs them to the appropriate person or school department. Perform any other task as assigned by the Superinten­dent which would enhance smooth department opera­tion

Board of Education Clerk

Responsible for taking monthly Board of Ed Minutes for Regular and Subcommittee meetings. Secretarial experience preferred.
