Public Defender Lassen County, Susanville, CA
Salary: $93,843 - $113,552 annually, plus benefits

Duties: The Lassen County Public Defender is appointed and receives policy direction from the Board of Supervisors and general executive direction from the County Administrative Officer. The Public Defender plans, organizes, directs and participates in the legal counseling and representation of indigent persons accused of violations of criminal law. Exercises direct supervision over assigned clerical, technical and professional personnel within the department.
Minimum requirements: Education Graduation from an accredited law school.
Experience: Five years' experience in the practice of law, including two years of significant administrative/managerial experience. Per California Government Code Section 27701, must have been a practicing attorney in all of the courts of the State for at least the year preceding the date of appointment.
License: Active member in the California State Bar Association. Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid California driver's license.
